Biography

Doug Zanger is Adweek’s agencies editor. Based in Portland, Oregon, Zanger focuses on the global, creative intersection of brands, agencies, talent and more.

A Minnesota native (with deep Philadelphia/N.J. roots), Zanger has interviewed some of the prominent leaders and personalities in advertising, marketing and culture including Sue Bird, Aloe Blacc, Carrie Brownstein, Wendy Clark, Colleen DeCourcy, Julie Foudy, Jeff Goldblum, Jeff Goodby, Seu Jorge, Neil Patrick Harris, Jeffrey Katzenberg, Dan Levy, CJ McCollum, Megan Rapinoe, Jill Scott, Rich Silverstein, Martin Sorrell, Dan Wieden, several NFL players and legends and more.

Fiercely dedicated to diversity, inclusion and equality, Zanger was recognized as “highly commended” for his work by Women In Marketing.

Before Adweek, Zanger was Americas editor for The Drum, content lead for the Advertising Week B-to-B events in New York and London, spent 15 years in the Portland radio market building successful in-house creative practices, and about three years with Nike.
